Description

Set in a Maine coastal village towards the end of the 19th century, this classic show features some of Rodgers and Hammerstein's most iconic songs, including If I Loved You, Mister Snow, June Is Bustin Out All Over and the iconic You'll Never Walk Alone.

The story tells of roguish carnival barker Billy Bigelow and mill worker Julie Jordan, who meet and fall in love. After a time, desperation leads to Billy committing crimes in order to provide for his family, with potentially tragic consequences. A secondary plot concerns the blossoming romance of mill worker Carrie Pipperidge and the ambitious fisherman Enoch Snow.

 
 
"In an effort to be open and honest with our loyal supporters, we wanted to share an important update with you all. 
 
Sadly, due to the current cost of living crisis, the ongoing impact of the pandemic still being felt by amateur societies and less than projected ticket sales for Carousel, we have made the decision to alter our performance dates. 
 
We will now only performing Carousel for 3 shows - Friday 18th and two performances on Saturday 19th (2pm & 7:30pm). 
 
As a charity, we have to ensure that all of our decisions are always based on protecting our assets, as well as safeguarding the future of our society. We hope that you see that this proactive decision ensures that we still honour our commitment to performing our fabulous show, but also cuts our overall expenditure. 
 
We are committed to producing outstanding shows and want to thank our past, present and future audiences for their support throughout our 113 years of performing in Redruth and beyond. Here's to many more!
