A Q&A screening of All Of Us Strangers presented as part of GOOD GRIEF WESTON A FESTIVAL OF LOVE + LOSS 10-13 October 2024. Produced by Super Culture in collaboration with the University of Bristol and the Weston-super-Mare Community Network.
One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbour Harry, which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents, appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, thirty years before.
Dr Jimmy Hay, a University of Bristol Senior Lecturer who specialises grief in cinema, will introduce this "emotionally wrenching masterpiece" and, after the screening, will give his own response to All Of Us Strangers exploration of grief, before opening up the floor for discussion.
